Vice President for Diversity and Inclusion Search

The Vice President for Diversity and Inclusion (VPDI) reports to the president of the University of Maryland, College Park. The vice president will serve as a member of the President’s Cabinet and will work with the senior vice president and provost, the Provost’s Council of Deans and other senior leaders to foster a welcoming and inclusive environment. As the lead diversity spokesperson, the VPDI will work with faculty, staff, students, system partners and external constituents to strengthen the infrastructure to advance diversity, equity, and inclusion as core institutional values.

Inclusion and Respect at the University of Maryland

The University has adopted the following Values Statement and Statement on Free Speech Values. A joint effort between the President's Office and University Senate, the statements were developed by faculty, staff and students as part of the Joint President/Senate Inclusion and Respect Task Force in spring 2018.
