Navy Special Warfare Operator 1st Class Christopher J. Chambers was one of two Navy SEALs who were declared dead following a recent mission, and we are proud to say he was also an alum of the University of Maryland. President Darryll J. Pines released the following statement after learning of this tragedy:
"Reports of the death of Navy SEAL Christopher J. Chambers and the heroics he displayed during a recent operation have impacted the Terrapin community, and we grieve his loss. We offer our condolences to his family, loved ones, former Terrapin classmates and teammates, and we honor his patriotism and service to our country."
