About

Jeff Hollingsworth has served in his position since June 2017 and is a longtime professor in the Department of Computer Science. As vice president and CIO, he leads the university’s IT strategy, infrastructure and services, provided by nearly 300 full-time staff and over 250 students. Hollingsworth has conducted research in the area of high-performance computing (HPC), and his work has been used by major federal laboratories and been incorporated into products sold by SGI, IBM and Red Hat. He serves on the board of trustees of Internet2, a national research and education network. Hollingsworth previously served on the board of directors of the Computing Research Association. He serves on the higher education board of advisors for Cisco, Spunk and Dell. Hollingsworth received his B.S. in electrical engineering from the University of California, Berkeley, and his M.S. and doctoral degrees in computer science from the University of Wisconsin.
