My fellow Terrapins,
Welcome to all, and welcome back to our returning students, faculty and staff.
Hundreds of new students moved into our residence halls this past weekend, including transfer students and exchange students for the Spring semester. Today, some faculty are teaching their very first course at Maryland, while new staff are starting the year by joining us as UMD employees.Many of us are new, and all of us are TerrapinSTRONG.
We also started 2025 by welcoming three high school seniors to our Fall freshman class by surprising them with admission letters on the #NowATerp bus tour. The excitement and pride on their faces remind me that our Maryland community is always growing, and I am tremendously grateful.
Have a good first day, and remember that Terps look out for Terps.
