The President's Commission on Disability Issues (PCDI) works collaboratively with other systems and units on campus and beyond that support community members with disabilities. PCDI helps to advance the cultural aspect of disability - we provide education and outreach on viewing disability as part of identity, and the unique and special dynamics that need to be considered while providing support for community members.
Please join these initiatives or spread the word:
- Disabled Legal Rights Awareness Seminar
- The Circle: Centering the Disability
- Affinity Space for UMD Employees with Disabilities
- UMD Cultural Center for Students with Disabilities
- RecWell Climbing Wall
- Wheelchair Tennis Program
PCDI is accepting suggestions for building on this list. Please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org if you want your program or event to be included.
The President's Commission on Disability Issues ensures that all events are accessible. Please contact the event organizers or email@example.com at least one week prior to the event to request disability accommodations. In all situations, a good faith effort (up until the time of the event) will be made to provide accommodations.
For more information, check the Event Accessibility website.
